A Note From Dr. Pulliam:
Welcome to my neurosurgery practice's website. I am a neurosurgeon specializing in providing medical care for conditions involving the spine, spinal cord, or peripheral nervous system. As an example, a few common medical complaints I treat include pain, weakness, or numbness of the back, neck, legs, arms, or hands. Read the treatments webpage or contact my office for more information.
I have over 25 years of experience in surgical practice since completing neurosurgical residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and Sherman has been my home since the completion of medical training.
I am serious about providing very personalized and excellent quality of health care to my patients. I focus on providing individualized and conservative treatment (i.e. surgery will be recommended only if there is a good chance it will improve your quality of life and only after less invasive treatments have been exhausted).
If you have been recommended for surgery by another practitioner or were advised to seek neurosurgical care, I would be happy to evaluate you and provide my opinion on whether surgery is the best option for you. However, no referral is necessary to visit my office, and, if your health care financial coverage plan allows, you can seek my care initially (without first seeing a primary care doctor).
Surgical procedures that I perform include anterior cervical fusion, cervical discectomy, lumbar discectomy, lumbar fusion, carpel tunnel release, and ulnar nerve transposition, as well as many more.
I think you might appreciate several aspects of my medical practice that are becoming harder to find today. As a patient of my single physician practice, you will always see me when you visit the clinic. At your first visit, you can expect a comprehensive and compassionate interview and examination; I will devote great attention and time to address your medical problems and develop a plan unique to your specific health, lifestyle, and desires. I will thoroughly explain medical problems so that you understand the disease process and your options. Likewise, should you require surgery, you will be comforted by the quiet and attentive atmosphere at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Sherman (formerly Heritage Park Surgical Hospital).
If you are not yet a patient of mine and would like to schedule an appointment or determine if I may be able to address your health care needs, please contact my office at (903) 957-3230. My staff would be more than happy to answer your questions and otherwise assist you.
If you are an existing patient, I hope this website will help answer the questions that brought you here. If not, please contact my office, and my staff will attend to your need. Specific webpages that may be of particular interest to you include the patient information page and the medical practice contact information page. I am honored that you selected me to provide your neurosurgical care. Please do not hesitate to contact the office at (903) 957-3230 if we may be of assistance.
I look forward to seeing you and serving your needs. I wish you all the best.
John Pulliam M.D.
